Medical Disclaimer
Effective Date: April 20, 2026
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.
Do not use this Site for urgent medical decisions, and do not delay seeking care because of anything you have read here.
1. Not medical advice
The content on CancerDrs ("the Site"), operated by MiniGig LLC, is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. The Site aggregates publicly available data from federal and authoritative sources (including ClinicalTrials.gov, the NPI Registry, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the National Cancer Institute, and SEER) and publishes explanatory content that links to primary sources. Nothing on the Site constitutes medical, clinical, diagnostic, prognostic, therapeutic, pharmacological, nutritional, psychological, legal, financial, insurance, or other professional advice, and nothing on the Site should be relied upon as such.
2. Consult a licensed clinician
Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified licensed healthcare provider with any question you may have regarding a medical condition, symptom, medication, procedure, clinical trial, second opinion, or treatment plan. Never disregard professional medical advice, delay in seeking it, or change a medication or treatment, because of something you have read on this Site.
3. No doctor–patient relationship
Your access to or use of the Site does not create a physician–patient, therapist–patient, attorney–client, or any other professional or fiduciary relationship between you and MiniGig LLC, its personnel, its contributors or reviewers, or any physician, oncologist, cancer center, hospital, trial sponsor, institution, or other party whose information is listed or referenced on the Site. Contributions, reviews, and bylines reflect the individual's independent views and do not constitute individualized medical advice to any reader.
4. Assumption of risk; your decisions are your own
You acknowledge and agree that all decisions regarding your health — including, without limitation, diagnosis, treatment or non-treatment, clinical-trial enrollment or non-enrollment, selection of physicians or facilities, decisions about medications, surgeries, radiation, immunotherapies, targeted therapies, palliative or hospice care, genetic testing, medical records, insurance coverage, and financial-aid applications — are solely your responsibility and the responsibility of your licensed treating clinicians. You assume all risks associated with any action or inaction you take based on information obtained through the Site, including any direct, indirect, consequential, or incidental harm. You agree that you will not rely on the Site as the sole basis for any such decision and will independently verify any material fact with the relevant primary source and with a qualified clinician.
5. Directory listings are not endorsements
Physician, oncologist, cancer-center, hospital, and clinical-trial listings on the Site are compiled from public data and, in some cases, voluntary submissions. Inclusion of any provider, institution, trial, sponsor, or service in a directory page, comparison page, or article does not constitute endorsement, recommendation, certification, accreditation, or guarantee by MiniGig LLC of that party's competence, quality, outcomes, credentials, ethics, safety, or fitness for any particular patient or condition. Designations shown (such as NCI-Designated Cancer Center status, CMS star ratings, board specialties, or state licensure) are shown with citation to the authoritative source; their current accuracy and applicability to your situation are your and your clinician's responsibility to verify.
6. Clinical-trial information
Clinical-trial listings are republished from ClinicalTrials.gov and are intended for general educational use. Eligibility criteria, enrollment status, site locations, contact details, investigators, interventions, phases, and study parameters can change without notice and are sometimes inaccurately reported in the underlying registry. Contact the trial's official site directly and consult with a qualified oncologist before making any enrollment decision. Participation in a clinical trial involves medical risks that are described in the trial's informed-consent document, which you must review with the trial site.
7. Second opinions, virtual consults, and affiliate services
Where the Site describes or links to second-opinion platforms, virtual-consult services, medical-records-retrieval services, genetic-testing services, insurance-appeal tools, patient-navigation services, or similar offerings — including affiliate links — those services are operated by independent third parties under their own terms and qualifications. MiniGig LLC does not provide, supervise, or control any such service. Engagement with any third-party service is solely between you and that third party.
8. Data accuracy, currency, and completeness
Directory entries, trial details, quality metrics, cancer-center designations, survival statistics, and educational content are sourced from third-party data sets and refreshed on a recurring schedule. While we take reasonable steps to aggregate accurately and link every factual claim to a primary source, we make no warranty that any specific listing, metric, criterion, or statistic is current, complete, accurate, or applicable to your situation. The public data sets themselves are produced by third parties and may contain errors, omissions, or delays. Always verify current information directly with the provider, institution, or trial sponsor before acting.
9. AI-assisted content
Portions of the educational content on the Site are drafted with the assistance of artificial-intelligence tools and reviewed against primary sources before publication. Despite our editorial process, AI-assisted content may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. Do not rely on AI-assisted content in place of advice from a qualified clinician.
10. No practice of medicine
MiniGig LLC is a publisher and data aggregator. It is not a healthcare provider, medical practice, pharmacy, laboratory, telemedicine service, insurance company, or licensed health plan, and it is not a HIPAA covered entity. Nothing on the Site constitutes the practice of medicine, nursing, mental health, pharmacy, or any other licensed profession in any jurisdiction.
11. Sponsored content and advertising
Paid placements, sponsored listings, and advertising are clearly labeled ("Sponsored," "Featured," "Advertisement," or similar) in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 C.F.R. Part 255). Payment of any sponsorship fee does not buy a favorable review, affect factual directory data, or convert advertising into medical advice. See our Editorial Policy for how we separate editorial from commercial content.
12. Testimonials and survivor stories
Survivor stories, patient testimonials, and caregiver accounts published on the Site reflect the personal experience of the individual and are not representative of the experience, outcome, or expectations of any other patient. Cancer and its treatment are highly individual. Do not assume that any outcome reported by another patient is indicative of your own likely outcome.
13. International users
The Services are designed primarily for users in the United States. Clinical information, trial registrations, provider credentials, regulatory standards, and insurance considerations referenced on the Site may not apply outside the United States. International users are responsible for confirming that any information is applicable in their jurisdiction.
14. Physician-payment transparency content
Where the Site surfaces payment-disclosure data about individual physicians (for example, at /transparency/ or inline on oncologist directory pages), that data is a verbatim republication of federally-mandated disclosures that drug and device manufacturers submit to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services under the Physician Payments Sunshine Act (42 U.S.C. § 1320a-7h). This content:
- Is not medical advice. It is not a recommendation, a ranking, a rating, an assessment of any physician's competence, ethics, judgment, or fitness, and it is not a characterization of any physician as having a conflict of interest. The presence of disclosed payments is not, on its own, a conflict of interest. The absence of disclosed payments does not mean a physician is independent of industry.
- Must not be used as a sole basis to choose or avoid a physician. Drug-maker relationships are one context factor among many; they are not a substitute for evaluating a physician's training, experience, communication, access, cost, and fit with your care plan, in consultation with your licensed care team.
- Dispute process sits with CMS, not with MiniGig LLC. If a named physician believes a disclosed figure is wrong or misattributed, the exclusive correction channel is the CMS Open Payments review-and-dispute workflow. Our data refreshes pick up CMS corrections on the next cycle. Our role is to republish what CMS publishes, with citations.
- Has known limitations. Payments made to teaching hospitals have no physician NPI attached; some new-product research payments are subject to federally-permitted delayed publication; a small fraction of records are marked "disputed" by the named recipient and are still published by CMS. Our methodology page explains these. See /transparency/methodology/.
15. Incorporation by reference; updates
This Medical Disclaimer is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. We may update this Disclaimer at any time; the "Effective Date" above reflects the current version. Continued use of the Site after any update constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised Disclaimer.
